I've been told that, similar to the roseate spoonbill, they have pink feathers due to their diet. My sanctuary does have a roseatte spoonbill named Spork. He was almost dead from starvation when found, as he couldn't fly. I believe this means the white rock has less iron content in it. I just love seeing how trees seem to be able to grow in the toughest of terrains with a water source not easily found nearby.
